The Center for Empowering Democracy (CemDem) is a newly approved IRS 501 C 3 non-profit international non-governmental organization (EIN: 99-2605137) whose mission is to support and encourage emerging and anticipated democracies around the world, including and specializing in the Middle East. At The Center for Empowering Democracy, our vision is to foster and strengthen the pillars of democracy throughout the Middle East, with a primary focus on Iraq, the Kurdish Regional Government of Iraq, and neighboring nations. We believe in a world where democracies thrive through active participation, robust governance, and the unwavering defense of human rights. Recognizing that democracies are not self-sustaining, our vision extends to cultivating environments where free and fair governance is not just an ideal, but a reality. Our approach to empowering democracy is comprehensive and multifaceted. We seek to implement and support initiatives across a broad spectrum of activities that are fundamental to democratic societies. This includes:

• Monitoring and Training for Good Governance: We provide training programs and monitor governmental activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Rule of Law and Citizen Protection: We advocate for legal frameworks that protect all citizens and ensure justice is both fair and equitable.
